Ada/Motif provides the Ada developer with complete Ada access to the XWindow and OSF/Motif libraries. Ada/Motif allows users to develop XWindow application software entirely in Ada. The finished Adaapplication has access to Xlib, Xt (Intrinsics Toolkit), Xm (OSF/Motifwidget sets), Mrm (Motif resource manager), Xmu, Xau, X input, Xdmcp andXext (Extensions).Ada/Motif is a commercialization of the STARS bindings. As such, it isthe bindings that are recommended by Paramax/STARS. Ada/Motif isarchitected to allow the developer to write custom widgets in Ada.Ada/Motif runs on a variety of platforms supporting a variety of Adacompilers. The commands are identical for all of them. This means thatporting to other environments is easy and there is no additional learningcurve for a new platform or compiler.Ada/Motif allows Ada programmers to use Ada tasking as it was intended.The potential problem of tasking in the X Window environment is handledin the bindings.
